In-Car LCD Temperature Display to Monitor Temps

A customer who we helped to import his own R33 Skyline recently, Alan Mears, showed me an In-Car LCD Temperature Display Unit that he has developed to monitor various vehicle temps. He has built a demo model for his own Skyline but informs me that it can be fitted to any car. It can monitor as many temperatures as you desire depending on how many sensors you are willing to fit! For example you can monitor:

  • Ambient air temp
  • Intake/inlet temp
  • Before/after intercooler temps
  • Oil temps (engine, gearbox, diff)
  • Turbo housing temp
  • Exhaust temp
  • Head/block temps
  • Engine Bay temp
  • Cockpit temp

You can set warning temperatures and when an overheat situation occurs, a 10mm super bright red LED illuminates as well as an alarm.

Something else Alan has come up with (this guy can do anything!) is a gauge pod that fits in the top right hand corner of R33 dashboards (see photos)

As you can see it fits perfectly and looks great. Alan has indicated that they will retail for approx $99 and Autoworx should have stock as soon as he has a few made up.

I will be fitting both to my own R33 Skyline shortly and will give a full review on this blog.
