Top Gear Crash at 230mph (368kmh)

I assume all you car lovers out there are as big fan of the UK show Top Gear as I am. A few months ago one of the presenters, Richard Hammond, was trying to break the land speed record in a jet powered drag car but it didn't work out as planned when the front right tyre exploded at 230mph.

He certainly was very lucky to survive but as Richard said on his own blog when some people criticised the show for airing the crash footage... "We can't pretend it didn't happen .... that we can hoon about all over Europe in supercars and punt jet-propelled dragsters up runways at 300mph without things going wrong. That's how it is in the world; things go wrong. And if I've learned one thing, it's that they can go wrong at the worst possible moment."
I suppose this is a lesson for all of us who tend to go a little over the speed limit sometimes... things can and will go wrong and only luck will decide if you survive or not... at least make sure that your tyres are in good condition!
